I think we could place a NC relay in the high-beam circuit which cuts the signal to the foglight relay if I really wanted it.

Not sure there's much need to shut down the fogs when the high beams are running. Doesn't that fall from a couple of states making it illegal to run them both and not a real need?

Making progress!

Lights and harness installed. Harness routed up to the underhood electrical center.

I've got a G8 switch and the wire from the siren to track down under the dash to get from the relay to the switch.

PS: The bolt size is M6-1.0x12. 10mm is the wrench size.

G8 switch installed and wired to where the relay will be.

I used the abandoned in place harness for the siren to get it from under the dash to under the hood.

The, also abandoned, upfitter harness had 12v hot-in-run coming from the trunk which I'm using to signal the relay.

12v to relay to switch to ground is how I have this leg wired. With the relay temporarily wired, it clicks on and off with the switch in the dash!

Next step is to rest my old bones and get the foglights wired into the relay.

Oh, and finalized the relay's wiring.

Aaaaaand done!

Slowing down and doing it right instead of my norm of slapping it together took longer, but I'm happy with the results.

Even the underhood doesn't look horrible.

Nice work. How did you make the relay work with the momentary push switch?

I used a G8 headlight switch, it's not momentary.

You pull out the bar to turn them on.

I need to make a wiring diagram for it.

I found an abandoned 12v that's hot in run/crank/start which I ran through the relay to the switch, which grounds it when the bar is pulled. It's handy that the lights shut off when I turn off the key, that way I can't forget them and kill the batteries.

The lights are triggered by the relay and I hooked those to the (+) lug on the underhood electrical and (-) lug near the ABS box.

Work in progress.

Got a spare G8 switch to put white LED's in.

I did a lot of damage to my original switch learning how to take them apart, that's the face that's in the pic.

Next time I take apart the dash, this will be the colors.

Have you made a wiring diagram for this yet? I almost have all the pieces to put fogs on mine

The no pictures explanation...

Switched 12v from the purple/red wire I found behind the glove box.

Run that to pin 85 of your relay.

Run a wire from pin 86 of the relay to pin 6 of the G8 switch.

The lights will be run from the (+) post on the under hood fuse box to pin 30 of the relay.

Run a wire from pin 87 to the (+) side of the light harness.

Run the (-) side of the light harness to the big ground stud just behind the underhood fuse box.

Because I put the relay under the hood, the wire for pins 85 and 86 run through the firewall using the abandoned wiring for the siren.

I will get my wiring diagram sorted and posted soon!
