VE Series 1, calais with stereo issues

Post by Dozer31570 »

Hi
First time poster.
Just wondering if anyone could assist me.
I have a 2007 calais with raflsio being same a the Caprice.
The issue is it is being locked onto the voice in screen and cannot be turned off even if car is locked.
So what I have tried is the diconnection of battery and reconnecting and also removing radio fuse and refitting.
Both of these reset stereo and seems to work fine but even time you crank motor via ignition it locks onto the voice in display.
I don't know what else that can be done and I have been told by someone that repairs these units that it could be a Hardware issue which could cost around $350 to fix.
Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.
Thanks

We only got the Caprices in 2011 and they had the IQ system. Yours would have the previous version. Those came in the Pontiac G8 we got here. May want to search thier board for fixes https://www.g8board.com/

Heres one: https://www.g8board.com/threads/voice-i ... ost-750089

But a common problem we have with the IQ systems is the radio is designed to stay on till you open the door. If the micro switch inside the door latch goes bad it never sends the signal that the door has been opened. So the radio stays on. BUt not sure what you mean about the voice in screen??

Just to add to that, if it is the door switch, the radio should turn off after 10 minutes. Have you tried waiting to see if it shuts off after that time?
