Programming Radio help needed

Post by anewowner »

2013 Chevrolet Caprice PPV obviously

My buddies radio is on the blue screen, “Exiting SWL” We have the makeshift cable, and a USB plugged into said cable. It counts down from 50 seconds but goes back to “pending USB insertion”. We work at a GMC dealership, and one of our main line techs is trying to help as well. We have the MDI hooked up, his computer with the programming software, and the radio plugged in with everything but we’re getting stuck at this point.

Does anyone know what else we’re doing wrong?
Any tips or the correct way of doing this would be insanely helpful, i just miss hearing his subs and he’s been working hard trying to fix this.

OK folks, let's help this new user out. Anyone else get to this level of programming on a iQ?

Thanks
Eric

There are a couple of guys in the Caprice Facebook groups that probably would be able to help. Don’t know if they are on this forum though.

I just know that in the past, have seen others try to program them themselves to activate the disabled stuff and wound up having to send it to White. Even dealers screwed up some units.

Make sure the USB stick you are using is not to big, 16 MB and under, and I believe it has to be formatted as FAT 32.

Then also test the continuity of the USB cable. Wires so small in them I am surprised more do not break.

If you need another try one of the Ebay ones:
