A/C parts needed and some questions

Post by v8suprcapric »

I'm in need of a hose for my a/c, Part #92265956. Apparently it's on national backorder with no ETA. I had the dealer check my A/C because it's no longer blowing cold and apparently there's a leak in this hose. So I need the hose and a couple of seals. Anybody know a way to track the parts down? Some dealership somewhere might have them? Aside from calling every GM dealers in the country what can I do?
Also, I'm curious where this part goes and how hard it is to install? The dealer here is the worst (couldn't even figure out how to relearn my new Delco TPMS and told me to take it to Les Schwab) and they gouge you anyway they can so anything I can do to avoid having them add hours to my bill would be nice. I'm hoping I can install the hose and then just have them recharge the system maybe. This is the dealer that wanted $500 something to replace my headlight and I found out on here how to do it myself and it took me 20 minutes.

Here's an alleged '11 part. I'm looking for 2013 which I think is different....

From Rock Auto.. It seems 2011 is different than 12 and 13 but not 14 WTF?!

Can anyone confirm that 2011 A/C lines are different than 2013? I would think not but Rock Auto seems to indicate that the 2011 part is not the same a 2013. The 2011 part also seems compatible with the Pontiac G8. hrumpf!

AC lines changed in 2012 model year to have a heat exchange piece on the assembly you are looking for.

Is the leak in the rubber or the metal? Maybe take it to a hose shop see if they can fix it up. Probably be better than factory.

It may be a hose that is leaking a small amount, but the biggest leak point on any GM vehicle since the mid 90’s had been the high side charging port. A good auto AC shop should be able to rebuild/repair the hose assembly if the hose is the only part that is bad.

So, are they interchangeable? I saw the video and I'm willing to take the 10% hit on efficiency if I can pay a reasonable price and get a new line.

..not sure if I need this particular hose. See next post.

I think the part that I'm pointing to is the "leaker" - oily residue. I'm not finding that it is available. Anyone know where I can get one of these? I think mine may have been caused by a bad motor mount. The A/C had been played with - found extra caps in the glove box for high and low pressure connection points. A/C sucked for a few weeks when I got it until the compressor stopped going on. I added a can of "134" and it made some cold for only a few days. "culprit" hose indicated below (red arrow).

If not available, is this the kind of hose that can be "fixed" by a shop?
