2012 9C1 Turbo Build

Post by landcrush »

Going to be starting my tear down and motor build so will try to document as best I can.
Car is a 2012 9C1 NJ Port Authority car. 80k on the car when I got it at an insurance auction in Long Island. Has a ridiculous amount of idle hours (17,000 if I remember) Planned to just swap the cam and drive it but decided I'm just going to send it. So far have removed the heads and saw that the headgasket was marked 2018, so presumably the car already had lifter failure or some other defect that caused the department to tear into it.

Plans for the motor are .005 or .010 bore, forged pistons and rods, stock crank, stock heads (for now), injectors, supercharged fuel pump and basic supporting mods for boost.

Will be attempting to fabricate most of the exhaust myself, and will be mounting the turbo under the car near the transmission.

Will use an oil less Comp Turbo in the 76-80mm range, 10-15# of boost and hope for north of 600 to the wheels.

Pulling the motor this week, will get some pics uploaded
