Just purchased a 2012 Caprice. Suggestions needed

I purchased this last week. Didn't know much about them but I got a great deal on it and being a W body fan I felt like it fit to my collection. It has 6500 miles on it with the 6.0. It's like a new car except for the lack of a back seat and a center console cover. Are the G8 seats a direct fit? Do they have the same wiring for the airbag and other power options?

There is allot of information here on what is compatible with the G8 and Caprice and a direct topic on seats in the interior section. I have seen factory Caprice seats on Craigslist, use the below search to find them. You also might want to call around to local installers, they may be able to get you seats for cars that have had the plastic ones installed. Or call the city you got it from, they may have it still or their installer.

Nah, I bough this one local in Missouri. Its has a missouri prior salvage Title. I called the police station it came from and they told me the seat had been thrown away unfortunately. I priced the seats though a friend that works at a GM dealer and it was $1800.
I'll do some searching on google. There were three cars approx. listed in car-part.com. last time I checked. Im afraid of what theyre going to want for the console cover.

The Caprice search is really difficult to use as they only have Caprice 1980 and up. What I would do is use the part "wheels" to search and call the yards to see if they have good seats. Use USA as the location to bring up all.

There was an old EBAY link somewhere in a prior post I made to a person around the Tampa, FL area that was selling five sets of 2012 Caprice rear seats, new condition, removed at vehicle upfit time. You might be able to look up the seller on EBAY if too much time hasn't past, or find the post with my link buried somewhere on here.

G8 seats will work in the Caprice, however be warned you'll have to do some harness modifications to make the electrical connections play, like Bill said there is a lot of background info on here on the mod. At least one of our members has swapped to G8 seats so far. I daresay I'll be doing the rear seat swap to G8 black leather sometime down the road. I still have it stored, but the CTS-V Recaro back seat I wanted to swap into my car was just a tad bit too short plus the mounts are completely different.

Just sold this today. It a Previous Salvage Title Vehicle. I got $15,500 What do you think. Should I be happy or should I have asked for more? Sold it without the back seat.

Since it had a salvage title, someone probably got a fair deal. Especially since they now have to hunt for a rear seat. Are you going to find another Caprice to play with?
