P0523

Post by Z09SS »

First off, dangit. I'd love to save for mods, but I'm nickeled and dimed here.

My connector was against the intake, so it was a major pain to get the lock to stay out the way and get the latch released. I used a hook.

Terminal 1 had less than 1 ohm. Terminal 2 had 5v.

Bad sensor/sender!

A 1-1/16" socket that I originally bought for an oil-pressure sender for my LT1 into a '91 Caprice swap fits the sensor perfectly.

I literally spent more time finding the P0523 entry in the service manual than it took to take it apart and test the wires.

You might notice a made some notes on the cover to make it easier to find the DTC next time!

GM sender and new basket filter ordered.

Heh, I've done that, too!! You have to LOVE the newer FSMs! One volume to look up the DTC, then another volume to find out how to R&R the part. But wait, there's more!! Another volume to find out how to take the other thing apart to get to the part you need to R&R. That, though, requires you to look in two different sections of said volume for some ancillary information.
