That's not a bad decision. That is a smoking deal on a scan tool with that level of functionality. You'll learn a bunch of new things about your car, and have deep access to every module in the car. It'll most likely pay for itself if you keep the car for any length of time. You can diagnose all kinds of stuff with a good scanner.
