Cam, DOD, vvt removal, new converter help
Cam, DOD, vvt removal, new converter help
I just bought a 2014 Caprice and I'm ready to have some fun. I'm about to order the DOD delete kit from Texas speed, along with a stage 3 231/246 cam and a convertor from Circle D. Now, with the stage 3 cam I heard I have to also buy the VVT removal kit, pushrods, new valve springs and lifters, Is that true? Just want to know before I start spending some money.
Re: Cam, DOD, vvt removal, new converter help
Hotrod,
I would talk with Texas Speed about the parts included in the DOD Delete kit. How complete is the kit? New pushrods would be needed if the base circle of the cam is smaller. The DOD specific lifters will be replaced. I would install 16 new lifters. Definitely new springs, we don't have VVT. The cylinder heads need to come off to replace the lifters, so all of the gaskets will need to be replaced, etc.
