Post by zMacioz »

Last Sunday I just bought my first 2013 Chevy caprice PPV 6.0 I purchased it from a guy in Chicago. He had it up there for 5600 I actually got it for 4500 it has a small tick but I already just ordered all new lifters and a camshaft. Do you need delete kit etc. happy to be here and this is my dream car so I love it.

Well, it boils down to economics. You'd have to look at the list of components provided in the kit(s) you're shopping as opposed to what you have on hand already or what you need for your particular desired configuration - for instance cam vs. no cam swap. Texas Speed & Performance is one example, you can configure your kit the way you want it. So, if you have part "A" on-hand already you don't need to order it in your kit. Also it might make a difference on who is doing the work, yourself, a regular garage or a speed shop. Some techs are more familiar with certain parts supplied by their favorite vendors and like to use those. Might be someone else shopping with your wallet a little but that's the price you pay for someone else's expertise. Or, take the long way out and research and quote all the needed parts yourself and get them from the most economical (or desired) source. The kits just bundle the average needed stuff into one convenient package to minimize your legwork that's needed.

If you have more specific questions don't hesitate to reach out. Welcome!
