Can someone ID this coolant hose for me!
Can someone ID this coolant hose for me!
So my "12 6.0 started dripping badly from this coolant hose. Thank you GM for no longer using green silicone hoses non 9C1s. I mean, why would you? The once on my 91s - 96s, 9C1 are still holding on strong!
Anyway, I would like to fix this leak this week. Are these hoses easily obtainable in auto parts store? Or are they dealer item only? I have never seen coolant hose with this type of hook up. Which hose is this? Where does it go? Anyone have the part number for it?
Obviously, I am speaking of the hose pointed out by the two green arrows. One end is the top, the other green arrow is the bottom.
Thanks

UMMMMMM , heater hoses !!
Re: Can someone ID this coolant hose for me!
That connector set comes as part of the hose section its connected to. One end on the short hoses from the water pump and the other end on the end of the long hoses from the heater core. I don't know of any part numbers to purchase just the plastic hose connectors.
Long hoses: 92252957
Short hoses: 92281853

connectors are only part of the hose half they are on
Re: Can someone ID this coolant hose for me!
As long as the hoses themselves are good, I'd be cutting those off and using two hose barbs with hose clamps. Eliminate the fancy and use basic.

Re: Can someone ID this coolant hose for me!
So I replaced the hoses to the heater core with straight lies instead of the OEM stuff.......But now the car is overheating and no there is no heat, only cold air coming out of the vents when the heat is on
I did add 3/4 of a gallon of Dex-Cool after replacing the line.
Is there a procedure to bleed it out or am I looking at other problems?
With the car running, one of the lines to the heater core is hot, the other one is only hot close to the water pump.
How do I tell if I am low on coolant? I didn't want to add too much (I added to the reservoir, not the radiator), but everytime I check the reservoir, on the dip stick, it seems like its a bit over full.
Thanks

Re: Can someone ID this coolant hose for me!
you have alot of air in the system , put the nose of the car in the air , ramps or jack stands , fill until its near full , then squeeze the lower hose to burp it , and fill as necssary , then start it and let it circulate
Re: Can someone ID this coolant hose for me!
I'm assuming fill from the radiator or still in the reservoir?
Re: Can someone ID this coolant hose for me!
raidator
overflow does nothing , other than allow venting and some to suck back in
