Oil cooler fitting on cylinder head

Post by Houston6.0 »

Hello caprice brethren,

My 2017 has a baby coolant leak from the oil cooler hose fitting on the cylinder head. i ordered pn 12614837 which is the fitting with 1/2 inch thread size, i just now noticed there is also an option for 3/8 thread size. Can anyone tell me which is the correct one, or if you had the same issue, what you did to fix it?

Much appreciated,

there is no oil cooler fitting on the head , there is one on the block #23 in the diagram , which is a M28x1.25

so not sure exactly what you are trying to do

i definitely considered deleting it for overall simplicity, the concept of the oil cooler is nice but i feel for regular driving its overkill. thank you for that PN as well

its usefulness kinda depends what extreme you live in , in the cold weather it will heat the oil up quicker , and summer it will help shed some temp

plus whether you have/keep the dod

you are welcome
