OK, it's time for the semi-annual inactive user purge. The following 43 users have 72 hours to make a post on the forum, anywhere, on any topic or face disintegration via my zap gun under our dormancy policy. This is to protect the system against sleeper bots as you all know, but every time I have to do this it really pains me. If anyone knows any of these users, please give them a heads-up that they need to take action now to retain their accounts.

Hi folks,

Once again, the semi-annual preventative system user purge time cometh. Users with zero posts that were validated prior to 7/1/2023 have 72 hours to make an introductory post, on any topic, in any subforum. After this time without any further warning.... ZAP!

If anyone knows these 17 people, please drop them a non-subtle hint that they need to login & make a first post. Soon.

Hey folks,

Just an information advisory - for reason(s) unknown we are seeing a substantial increase in what we call "latency" or longer forum response times after something is submitted. I verified this via multiple methods and have reached out to our webhost for input. They've also indicated they are seeing this as well and are looking into the issue. So hang in there.... cavalry's coming!

Well, this last 6-hour outage was very unexpected but.... things do happen. We've still as of yet not completed the repairs to the system. The system developer just completed a restore that brought us back on line... temporarily.... but nevertheless we're running at least for the moment.

I'm consulting with the webhost and the developer on the next steps to be taken here, but the palliative cures so far have not worked. It may be time to call for Dr. McCoy and whip up a Vulcan Mind Meld to straighten things out once & for all. More later after we've had time to confab a bit more.

OK folks, now that things are reasonably back to normal it's time for some routine system maintenance activities. As customary, twice a year, the semi-annual INACTIVE USER PURGE is here. The following users have 72 hours to make a post on any topic in any subforum or risk dissolution via my zap gun.

You know, the only thing I haven't done is rent a flashing billboard that says "MAKE A FIRST POST OR BE DELETED!!" to stick in front of people's faces. I'm not out to make huge flashy system user numbers for bragging rights, this is solely about protecting the system from sleeper bots. If anyone knows any of these folks please let them know they're fixing to take up residence on the digital equivalent of Mortuary Hill unless they act NOW!
