The MIL must be off, the code cleared and a certain number of drive cycles must be completed before it will pass inspection. I'm not sure how many cycles that entails, but I did get the car out last Wednesday for some errands, and we got out and back without any lights on the dash. I'll be taking it to do my Saturday errands, and if the lights stay off, I'll swing in for an inspection.lastcall190 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2019 3:23 pm FWIW, making a code not report does not impact inspection/MIL status. Just hit a drive cycle after flashing the computer and you're set.
But if you figured it out to allow for inspection in its current form then great.

While I'm not 100% certain of a solution yet (once bit, twice shy), I think the issue was a leak in the exhaust system between the cat and the head pipe on the passenger side. If you've read my project thread, you'll note that I had fitment issues with the Solo Perf. cats and the exhaust. The passenger side slid right together, while I had to take a die grinder to the driver's side. I think that slip fit caused some air to be sucked back in, diluting the exhaust stream. I took some thin aluminum sheet and made a 'bushing' to go around the socket on the exhaust head pipe end so that it interference-fits into the cat. I DID note that after the restart, the car sounded a lot quieter.
While road testing with the scanner connected, both secondary O2 sensors were pretty much showing the same readings as I drove. The successful road trip last Wednesday was about 3X the distance I traveled the previous trip before the light came on, so, so far, so good. Fingers crossed we're done here so I can concentrate on getting the brakes finished on the Camaro.
