2015 3.6 w/6L45 tranny - drain/fill procedure needed

Post by elc32955 »

Hey all,

I need a copy of the GM procedure on draining, replacing filter, and filling the 6L45 transmission as found on the 2014-2017 LFX V6 cars. I did find this YouTube video on a change for the Cadillac ATS. It looks like the 2013-2015 has the same powertrain as our cars as an option (1 of 3 combos available), but with a 321hp rating.

While YouTube is good, I'd still like to have a look at the GM procedure as there's always differences!

Thanks
Eric

This is how i do mine

draining the fluid and changing the filter is straight forward

to refill I pull the plug at the rear of the trans and fill until fluid starts to come out. at that point i start the car and run the trans in drive and reverse for a minute of so, then while in park and engine running i top off the fluid i think the trans temp shoiuld be around 85 degrees
