2011 buick park avenue interior swap?

Post by Railroader505 »

Looking online, i saw a chinese buick park avenue is the same platform. Anyone do any research on that? I'm currently looking into it. Looks like a fantastic interior compared to the ppv standard vinyl.

I've seen the pics of this interior before and it looks awesome, BUT..... the problem here is that this car is apparently China only. We'd have to develop an overseas source for the parts & find donor car(s), get the purchase & shipping negotiated, clear it all through Customs, then get the parts here & work out the interchanges/try to supplement what is missing or doesn't fit (the wheelbase difference with the rear parts immediately comes to mind for instance). At least with the Aussie cars we have a few avenues to go through in order to get parts & services and have a decent knowledge base to fall back on. This is unknown territory here, at best. At worst it'd be a money pit with no sure guarantee. Not trying to down the idea, but just trying to illustrate a few of the challenges you'd face.

If you're going to try the project then by all means keep us updated, you'll probably be the guinea pig for the swap. If you develop the China parts connections, you could easily become the CP for Chinese parts if so desired. That Buick does have a kickass interior... if it's cost-effective to do when it's all said & done. Wonder how many of those were actually released into the wild?

BTW welcome to the system!

Easier and cheaper to buy an ss,I'm thinking so too. wiki says they were made from 2011 to 2013 so, it would be super rare. Hadn't seen anything in the forums about it so i thought id throw it out there. Badging it like a park avenue would be strange enough! I dont even know how CP handles all the parts he ships. Not a hobby id be even remotely be ok doing. Props to CP!!

Anyone know about what the production of the Chevrolet Caprice is in the Middle East. From the videos I've seen it seems like a really common car there. And its left hand drive. They have a Chevrolet Caprice SS that looks really nice.
